All set!

First of all, a warm welcome to all of our friends from Facebookland who are reading our blog for the first time! If you’d like to keep up with our adventures, then enter your email address in the ‘keep in touch’ section. We’ll also be updating Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as we go – links should be to the right/in the footer depending on the device you’re reading this on.

We’ve had a very busy couple of weeks getting ready for our travels. The house is now practically empty, with the removal men coming on Saturday to put our furniture into storage. We still don’t have tenants lined up, though we’ve now had people coming round to look, so it hopefully won’t be too long now.

The van is now fully loaded with all our stuff, and we also filled our new gas system with LPG for the first time:

Carol the gas pump attendant!

The van has been in outdoor storage for the past four months, parked under a tree, and the roof in particular was filthy, so we spent an afternoon giving it a good clean:

Before
After

We’ve met up with family and friends to say our farewells, and one of our neighbours has kindly invited us and all of our other neighbours round for drinks at his place tomorrow night.

On Saturday we’ll be spending the night in Colchester for the final time, and the car’s booked in with the people that buy any car dot com for first thing Sunday morning. It’s hard to believe that after months of planning and preparations, we’ll finally be through the tunnel and on our way to Spain on Monday.
